Charles was born in Lambeth, London in 1893.

Father: Arthur Frederic Tindall b. 1860 Huddersfield, Yorkshire, a self-employed insurance agent for the Prudential.

Mother: Laura Amelia Nevill b. 1861 Aston, Birmingham, a dressmaker.

Sister: Violet Ethel Tindall b. 1885 in Fulham, London, a photographer's book keeper. She married John Frank Peachey, my wife's paternal grandfather.

It is known that Charles served in India and brought back with him several souvenirs/curios. He remained single until 1949 when at the age of 56 he married 
Ethel M Busby, a widow with two children. Charles died in 1963.
