25th County of London Cyclist Battalion
The London Regiment

Orford Richard / Orford Charles AMASS

Orford was baptised on the 13 Jan 1884 in St. Jude's, Gray's In  Rd, St. Pancras, Middlesex the son of Orford & Emma Amass. According to the baptism register he was born on the 21 Dec 1883.
Note - This conflicts with the date of birth on his service record which is 12 Dec 1883. There are also other discrepancies. Orford married & signed his name as Orford Charles not Orford Richard. In his service records he is referred by both names in separate documents.
It appears he couldn't make up his mind what he wanted his middle name to be.
