Richard Harold SNELL

Richard was born on the 15 May 1893 in Stonehouse, Devon, the son of Richard, a laundry manager / army pensioner (1911 census) & Mary (nee Giddy).
He married Ivy Holland in 1915 in Clapham Junction.

Born - 15 May 189? - Plymouth, parents Richard & Mary.
Address - 53 Replingham Rd, Southfields, Wandsworth, SW18
Marital status - Married, 4 Sep 1915, Clapham Junction.
Occupation - Commercial Traveller, builders ironmonger.
Employer - Messrs. H.J. Shearm Ltd, 30 High St, Putney, London SW18.
Approved Scociety - Rechabites
Departed fro India per the S.S. Ceramic on 3 Feb 1916, arrived Bombay 26 Feb 1916.
Disability - Malaria contracted in India Aug 1918.
Military character - Very good.
Embarked for UK on 9 May 1919 per HT Indarra - "Unfit to stand another hot weather in India".
Arrived UK 1 Oct 1919.
Disembodied - 4 Jul 1919.

Richard retruned from India in May 1919 per 'Indarra'. Nominal roll  - India to UK.
